Exciting News: Introducing Aliens Ensemble!
I’m absolutely thrilled to share some incredible news with you all. I’m over the moon to announce the formation of a brand-new musical group called Aliens Ensemble!
Picture this: five amazing female musicians, each with our own unique background, coming together to create something truly out of this world. That’s us – Gloria Yu (yours truly), Helena Li, Kaitlyn Yang, Silvia He and Yvonne Tsang. We’ve all grown up in different corners of the globe, but fate has brought us together in the beautiful city of Vancouver, Canada.

I still can’t believe how lucky I’ve been to cross paths with these talented women at various performing events and occasions. It was like the universe conspired to bring us together! As we got to know each other, I was overjoyed to discover our shared passion for music. Despite playing different instruments, we immediately clicked and knew we had to form an ensemble.
Our group is a fantastic blend of East and West. We’ve got musicians who play Western instruments like the harp and cello, alongside those who excel in Chinese instruments such as the erhu, pipa, yangqin, and guzheng. This unique combination is what makes us special!
Now, you might be wondering about our name – Aliens Ensemble. Well, let me tell you, we love it! In a sense, we’re all “aliens” who have landed in this wonderful country called Canada. To us, being aliens represents our uniqueness, our burst of extra-terrestrial positive energy, and our mission to bring harmony through music to the people of Earth.
As Aliens, we’re on a mission to spread joy through our music. We’re planning performances at senior homes, hospitals, schools, and hospices. Our hope is that our melodies will provide brief moments of relief and serenity to those facing challenges or illness. But that’s not all – we’re also excited to announce that we’ll be performing at fundraising and other charity events! It’s our way of giving back to the community and supporting important causes through our music.
And guess what? We’ll be inviting other talented musicians to join us from time to time, making each performance a new and exciting experience!
With our diverse backgrounds, we’re also excited to infuse a dose of multiculturalism into our music. Our fusion of Western and Oriental instruments will create a unique sound that bridges cultures and brings people together. We can’t wait to share this with our community!
